Used Bike

Good morning all,

I was saving for a brand spanking new bike (first bike), but apparently a house is more important so I have negotiated the purchase of a used bike...basically...what should I look for when buying a used bike.

Would love a giant defy 1 - 3 but with a budget of £500...is this possible?

Yes, just keep an eye on gumtree and ebay, making sure you confirm legitimate ownership of the bike. Could also post a wanted ad on here, you never know someone may be selling / upgrading. The problem with used is location, there may be 10 in London but none in York.

Ashcycles often have good deals on older giant models if happy to buy mail order, they have a good rep on here.
