Apologies for my techno-plankiness.

I'm using vistaprint to make some invitations for a launch party.

I would like there to be some pictures of shoes on the invite. I've googled 'pictures of shoes' and some shoe websites, but when I save them to my computer, then upload them to my design on vista, they look blurred, and not like the photos of my own that I have used on invites in the past.
Any suggestions? Or do I have to photograph pics of my own shoes to ensure a high-resolution???

This isn't, IMO, a question about pictures but about how you are using the search engine.

What search engine are you using? It sounds like you are just copying the images from the search results pages, which are small low-res thumbnails in crappy quality which are designed to appear quickly and which will look rubbish if you use them at anything more than about 2cm wide.

I've never used vistaprint and you don't say what search engine, browser or operating system you are using, so some of this may need to be changed.

Go to Google, type in shoes then, when the results have appeared, click on "Images" near the top left of the screen then, in the menu on the left side, just under where it says "Any Size", click on large. You'll get a page which looks something like this.

Scroll down until you see an image you like and left click on it. Then, when the next page has loaded, right click on the image which you liked and left click on (the exact wording will depend on your browser) "copy image". Then go to vistaprint, right click again and paste.

Hi Norm,

I have Internet Explorer. The google pics are not quite right, so I have used a shoe website, ie, a shop, the pics are big and good quality, but when I cut and paste them into 'my pictures' then use the vistaprint tool to browse, then select, they're not as good as when they are just in 'my pictures'.
Vista won't allow me to just cut and paste into their site, I don't think.

Gnashing of teeth.

Actually, it looks like it's worked after all - there is a facility to have a proof sent - I did that, and the pics look clear - better than an expensive mistake.

Thankyou for your help though.
