Using VPN to alter price

Has anyone done this to purchase a bike?
I've heard of people using a vpn to book flights at cheaper rates.
Theres a UK supplier and if i change location it reduces the price by £600.
Just wondered if there are any implications

Just be careful it's not defaulted to Euro or something and not added VAT until checkout...

it stays in sterling but i think you're right, vat is the saving. whether it gets added i don't know, i haven't got that far!

You sure that it is not just the price without VAT as it assumes you’re not in UK? Thus a £3,000 bike reduced £2,400. Being you’ll pay import duty and tax when you import. If you proceed as far as shipping and put a UK address in, what do you get?

I think you're both right. I hadn't thought of import duty either. Although, the item wouldn't be passing through customs I guess.
Haven't got as far as entering delivery details, as I'm still window shopping.
Left the vpn set for adfree youtube, went to daydream about a new bike and noticed a big price difference.
