My V brake spring retaining pin has vanished. Has anyone successfully sorted this? Thinking about a self-tapping screw or similar.

To preempt the sarky comments; no I'm not going to put discs on it, it's a vintage Marin Nail Trail, and i love it as it is.

You mean the wee screw?
Yes, I have used a similar screw that was not the one, if you know what I mean ^_^
It worked.

It retains the straight end of the top of the spring. I will try to take a photo. A few mm in diameter, 'T' shaped with a small plastic sleeve on the stem. Never really took note of them before it vanished. I can get by, by threading the end of the spring into the hole it has left. They do not appear to be threaded.

Presently sorted with a self tapping screw wrapped in duck tape. Seems to be holding OK
