The best grease I find for threads is copaslip, nothing can beat it in my opinion.
"Copaslip" isn't a grease but a compound containing copper which is not meant to lubricate but does prevent the chemical action which takes place when steel is adjacent to allu. Usually grease is used when there is moving parts, and any type of copper slip when steel and alu is bonded together e.g. seat-post in an aluminium frame.

really?? the rest about not being a lubricant is correct though

Copaslip®

Copaslip® (often misspelled as copperslip or coppaslip) - the original anti-seize compound. It is a very high temperature (up to 1100°C) anti-seize assembly compound, bentone based non-melt grease with copper, polybutene, and anti-corrosion additives

Whilst virtually any grease, including vaseline will help prevent things seize, and won't attract moisture, won't cause rust or do any harm per se, copaslip is specially for this job and a fiver's worth will probably be enough to last you the next 100 years, so hardly worth using the wrong stuff. But as someone above said, don't use copaslip instead of grease when grease is the right stuff !

It may be describes as "grease" by the manufacturer but the term is usually associated with lubrication in cycling terms and in general use.
I think it important to differentiate it from copper slip when applied to bicycles.

Why not use Shimano Anti-Seize? It's waterproof, and designed to stop things seizing together, which seems to fit all the requirements with no ambiguity at all.

No reason, it's just that unless you really really want to buy some anti-sieze, that old pot of Vaseline Pet Jelly sitting in the back of the bathroom cabinet, or an old pot of trad. grease languishing in the garage will do the job adequately well.
