I had had a family event in Ramsey to attend so I took the opportunity to cycle down to Huntingdon where we stayed over night . A nice ride down of 77 miles saw to grab 41 new squares and 5 on my eastern edge in Corby . Then the morning after I had a head clearing ride to meet some more of the family at Grafton water which I made into a 19 mile trip grabbing another 23 squares . Total squares 6853 ,max cluster went up just 6 to 3731. Then grabbed a lift home the fatigue of a 250 mile week was being to bite ( plus I might have been a bit hung over still )

Three new tiles on a ride out to the other side of Luton Airport - opposite side to the terminal, but has a viewing area so you can see flights land and take-off. Certainly were a lot of people there; I guess living in Luton isn't exactly exciting and this is the best you can do!

Could have got two more tiles (directly to the right of the southern most yellow tile and then the one below that) but there were "road closure ahead" signs and I wasn't sure how far down the closure was, so played it safe. Given my experience on a ride earlier this week where I got caught out by a different road closure and was forced to choose between a hill climb or a 5 mile detour to get back on track, I wasn't wanting to take a risk.

The SW corner of your square is in a similar position to mine. I have had a route planned to mop up the tiles towards Redditch for some time now but haven't got round to riding it. I am planning on entering an MTB orienteering event based at Rowington next month and hope that this means that I will get some tiles 'for free'. The event is just three hours so I may even head back out afterwards to fill any spaces as it saves the ~140k round trip by bike.

I did the orienteering event yesterday. It was great fun (as usual) but I only grabbed one 'free' tile

After three hours of 'going for it' I didn't have the energy or enthusiasm to go back out for more tiles.

I only added 1 to my max cluster though.

My group ride today rather than going into March, Cambridgeshire went along its western bypass, which got me a tile. Its usually crazy but today there was a few steam engines normality resumed on the next road with plenty of drivers overtaking in non existent gaps at speed. The pick of the bunch was Mr Audi driver (living up to the stereotype 🙄) who shot by me circa 8 inches from my bars into head on traffic; the worrying thing I was 6inches left of my mate (how on earth he wasn't hit 😱).

Your mate must be very thin

Maybe I should have said my wheel line was 6 inches left of his wheel line. I'd actually guess he was a few inches wider than me so if the car passed me by circa 8 inches it passed him by 8 minus 6, minus his extra width, which is near zero 😟 Typical Fen driving and when they have a fatal 'accident' in them, which seems to be often, they turn round and blame the road!
