This was on my local news today, and this road is on my commute. Making me a bit nervous of going that way in the future!

Yeah this is true. Was just a massive shock to see that a cyclist was killed on a road I cycle down 4 times a week! Didn't see many around today!

But isn't this a standard practice type of thing? I've noted in some cases it takes months for them to actually charge someone with whichever offence. This way they have him on one thing which could seriously affect his right to hold a licence and therefore his job?
If I remember right its a max of 10 points with DQ and custodial sentence possible?
