The staff were very nice and helpful. I have decided the Thorn Audax will be my next purchase, now all I have to do is decide on the colour, black or their new gunmetal colour.

The build will only take 5 weeks so will have my new bike mid August

Thank you, I agree! I'm not sure if that colour is on offer any more though. Of these two I'd choose the gunmetal, but only because I wouldn't want a matt finish - otherwise I do like a black bike.

Yes they do still have the British Racing Green and I was offered than and any of the colours but I narrowed it down to black or gunmetal. In the end I went with gunmetal because the saddle, mudguards and bar tape were black also and it was all just a bit too much black. I may now change the mudguards to silver though, they said I have 7 days to let them know as they have already started the build.

Personally I like silver mudguards they lift the bike no matter what colour. Also I think all silver finishing kit is more classy on a thorn if you can get it that way. The BRG one further up the thread really highlights this.

I did go for steel bottle cages because I didn't like the plastic ones and having seen the BRG with silver mudguards I will now change mine. I upgraded the seat post, handlebar and stem which only comes in black and the chainrings will also be black I believe, at least it was on the bike I looked at in the showroom. But you are right the BRG bike looks very classy with all that silver.
