Do not see the point of it..... maybe it doubles up as a phone (haha). It is a gimmick but some people will be kings new clothes about it, no doubt, with it only being useful for very few in reality. Seems everything has to be computer connected nowadays.
Anyone seen bent over at the side of the road having a conversation with their rear bike light is definitely fair game for getting sectioned.
it will probably appeal to the same sort of people who also use those smart lights that can be programmed using your phone. Bike lights really don't need to be reinvented, and if you want to use a tracking device a covert one is going to be far more useful than one a thief can just bash to bits with your D lock they have just cut off.
Any, and I mean any, gizmo with the word 'smart ' in the title invariably is not smart, IMO. e.g. smart meter, smart motorway, smart phone, smart arse etc. I would avoid on principle!
