Did they know about the failed lighting system or had it just failed? If the former then they may be liable but if the latter I fail to see how they are at fault.
Absolutely, if it had not been reported then there is no way the airport can be blamed, and if it had you would have to show that they had not posted warnings or made repairs in a reasonable time.
I shouldn't really talk about this though.

Don't know why I even brought the subject up. I thought with this being the 'CycleChat Cafe' it'd be somewhere for just thinking aloud.... Yes, I was at work and had nothing better to do!

...is so tedious!

I had an accident at work back in June and I'm hunting for compensation. I'm hoping to get enough for a decent bicycle but tbh I've no idea.

Wish my ambulance-chasers would get a move on!

Here's hoping for a succesful outcome and sufficient funds for one of these:

 25k for a twisted knee? Seriously. There are precedents for PI claims, Google you'll get an idea of the sums. I would think you should take a zero at least off that number

My accident was last Feb, liability admitted by other party, still not settled

and ran upstairs.
That's a black mark against you then.
Forget the new bike and set your sights on a puncture repair kit to avoid serious disappointment.

Yebbut yours was a non trivial injury.
I guess from which I've still not 'recovered' hence the length of time. Some of the effects are permanent, I need to see the expert again to confirm I'm unlikely to recover further so wecanfinally move to settle. However, it's taken so long another injury potentially sustained has worsened and that now needs to be looked at!

I entered a stairwell in brilliant sunshine, and ran upstairs. The door shut behind me and the light didn't come on; I carefully walked back downstairs in pitch darkness, holding the handrail, but I missed the bottom step and twisted my knee.

I'm not a troll.

I've finished the sentence for you.

Had you fallen on a bridge though..........

I did this on a bright day carrying laundry down the stairs... my [s[Boss[/s] Wife very helpfully laughed and thought it very funny, so no chance of compensation there

PS.. Anecdotally - Had I been wearing a helmet then I could have probably avoided the slight cut to my head as well!
