This morning I was going to cold set my Carlton pro from 127mm to 130mm, I've just been springing the frame to fit a 130 wheel
I started to check the frame alinement, with the Seldon string method, which was all ok, I then measured the space between the rear dropouts & I was expecting it to be 127mm but it has stretched to a perfect 130 mm over the course of a couple of months, that's the easiest cold setting I've ever Not done, I checked the rear dropout alinement & it's good to go, anyone else experienced this stretching

No but I once overstretched a steel frame and went from springing them out to pulling them in, also managed to get the out of alignment as well. I used the lump of wood method for that, next time I used a threaded rod and that went smoothly.

Strictly it can't stretch as you have not breached the elastic limit of the metal simply by springing it 2mm each side, nor has it suffered "creep".

That's a fancy looking tool
