Absolutely peeing it down and i had slowed right down to turn right when i hit a patch of diesel and the bike went from under me as i started to lean right !, Saw a patch of oil oe diesel as i remounted .
Slid along the road for a few yards on my right hip which now has a lovely bit of road rash and my right calf hurts so it must have bashed the pedals .
Bike has a scrape on the rear mech , shifts ok so i think the hangers ok as the rack and panniers probably saved it and the right handlebar tape is scraped.

Ouch Ouch Ouch , although for some reason the lycra did not tear

Bummer. Hope you are OK.

I've been sneaking around corners, on my bike, for a couple of days now.

yowch GWS. We hit a patch when I was driving once in the wet on a Sunday evening, it was completely invisible on the road and I was comfortably under the speed limit, an old fuel tank that had been badly stoppered was pouring it out as it was being driven to be scrapped.

I hit it on a bend and immediately had no control whatsoever, pirouetted into the stack of cars already blocking the road having done the same and promptly got hit by the cars following us.

The cops found the driver a couple of miles and literally dozens of accidents away. there were all sorts of problems on the route he'd driven across a big swathe of North Manchester and they kept many roads blocked off the following morning rush hour to save more carnage as they cleared it all up.

Ouch GWS.... All though Bretbys local to me I don't really go anywhere near.... but I have nearly had similar event near Cadley hill Road/William Nadin way Island in Swad..... back wheel nearly went from under me... road was wet and a lorry had tipped over a few days before so I reckon diesel was involved there as well....

Hope you recover ok.

This total C**k crashed his truck and turned around and drove back to base pouring diesel all over the road for 2 miles. Only stopped when his tank ran dry. Agency driver apparently.
