Watch the Olympic team train

A poster on another forum I frequent (not cycling) has just posted that you can go to the velodrome in Newport to watch the team. He said he rang Newport Leisure and they said you can just turn up and watch.

I've just had a google (is that now considered a verb?) and it appears to be true.

I've done a taster session at the Manchester track, the GB team were on before us, got off for us to go on and then were on rollers while we rode round. Quite exciting!

I find going to watch the big nobs both inspiration and also intimidating...

I was at a bmx national the other week...awesome to watch the big guns steam round the track at the speed of light...and scary to watch the kids about a third my height go round the track twice as fast as I can!!!!!!!

I live in a small village just outside Newport, turned up last week and had a quick look and they were encouraging people to go and watch. I'm going to go back with my camera gear next week (if allowed) so will post anything interesting for you guys!

An interesting note, they've turned the heat right up to try and simulate Beijing temperatures, was bloody hot!
