I propose a slight modification.
Instead of water use petrol, and as the air pushes it out the back it can be ignited with a spark plug.

Can't the really cheap stuff can be had for around 20p for a 2 litre bottle? Which works out at around 45p a gallon (I think), which is quite reasonable compared to unleaded petrol
