i don't mind any weather but wind, and the extreme wind for the last few days has put me in the car.

I haven't been to my local swimming pool for years, and that's a shame as it's only 5 minutes walk from my house and one of only two swimming pools in the whole of Accrington(Hyndburn)! I might go for a swim on Monday!

Also been looking longingly at my bike this week. As I don't have a turbo, my kids talked me into skipping (jump rope)...at first I thought it was going to be a breeze...now I hurt like I've been beaten up so it must be doing some good!!!

Most cyclists I speak to find wind the most unpleasant weather in which to cycle, I am the same, although I don't like really heavy rain either, especially as it makes my specs so difficult to see through. I tend to look at the BBC website weather forecast before going out and use the predicted wind direction to plan my route; I like to have the wind behind me on the second half of my ride when I'm tired so my return journey is wind-assisted. Living on the west coast is a problem when the wind is westerly though, when that happens I go up and down the coast instead of inland and back.

After another horrible morning yesterday, it brightened up yesterday afternoon, and although it was still windy, I couldn't resist getting out on the bike, having been unable to do so since Monday. Managed to ride in a direction that made it mostly a cross wind and it was great to get out up and down the Southport Coast Road, looking over the Ribble estuary towards Blackpool and then towards North Wales. The wildness and dramatic skies were a treat..

We've probably crossed paths as I am down the road in Largs. I avoid the A78 though, so if up that way it's via Brisbane Glen and Loch Thom, or over the Meigle to Skelmorlie.
Don't know what you mean about the weather; it's always nice and sunny in Ayrshire , aye, right!

There is a wee CC Ecosse ride planned from Wemyss Bay on Sunday 27 April if you're interested. Details here.

Sounds like a brilliant day out I'll be there , thanks for the invite appreciate it as I'm fairly new to cycling
As long as you're not too fast! Seriously though, all abilities are welcome. It won't be fast if I'm leading anyway ^_^.

Thats one of my favourite runs @Brandane. I come at it from the skelmorlie end,we have probs crossed paths too.
Skelmorlie? Not too far to travel for the above mentioned 3 ferries ride then!
