I got to within a mile of home when I hit the downpour, I just kept my head down and pedalled as fast as I could into the wind (I was of course proceeding in a southwesterly direction) and managed to get home before serious damage was done to the contents of my basket ("The Daily Ukulele: 365 Songs For Better Living").

The interest in the Ukulele has gone up round here. I'm not sure why but I do like their small size. This books looks more interesting than Bert Weedon's 'Play in a Day' . Have you seen the Ukulele Orchestra on YouTube - fantastic.

Yes they are amazing. There's a sort of ukulele underground in this country - a friend of mine plays and went to a mass ukulele event at the Albert Hall - the whole audience brought their ukes and joined in.

It is incredibly easy to play but also you can get good at it and be a virtuoso. This is some way off for me! But Dad has dementia and it is really good to get him to pick up the harmonica and play, so I bike round with the uke and we hit the old standards together at least once a week. The Daily Ukulele is a great book, something for everyone.
