Morning all. Another day going forward into impending oblivion. A day of chilling, repairing middle daughters oven and cooling some beer. New years eve is always a sad time for the OH and myself as we suffered a loss many years ago, so don't celebrate it like most people. A few quiet drinks and contemplation and that will be it. To everyone on here i say hope you had a good 2025 and get a better 2026.

A chilly, cloudy -5.5C. Drinking coffee, obvs, but wondering whether the magnificent cloud inversion will lift later and sun will return to the valley. If I weren't a bit broken, I'd be walking up to my favourite viewpoint at about 1000m, which would get me above this lot, I think.

Working 11:00 - 20:00

Bed by 23:00, hoping not to be woken by all the silly 'pops & bangs'

Repeat same working hours tomorrow

I'm old enough to share your disdain but young enough to remember my joy in participating.
The local town square will likely party on till 4. I'll hopefully be reaching for some earplugs by 12:30.

Never been a fan of it all
Remember working overtime/staying over, at the Millenium

The only good thing about working tonight (because I loathe late-turns) is that my Scottish collegue tells me he's bringing 'Hogmanay Haggis' :okay: :okay: (hopefully with 'neeps')

Morning(ish)

Brr© (@sungod) but less brr© than yesterday.
Need to sort my body clock. Waking up at 5am or thereabouts and then crashing.
I doubt it will get any better as very early starts for Kinross and Largs for silly sliding rocks down some frozen water sillyness competitions in J,F and M.

Café in the sticks later but first: extra coffee.

Interesting start to the day when junior flushed the toilet, the contents came out of a hole in the waste water pipe and down the outside of the kitchen utility room window...plumber called.

Apart from that, not up to much today and will dodge the forced jollity and rammed pubs of NYE as usual. Bah humbug.

Morning
Bright and sunny but frosty. Bird bath is frozen so any cycling will be indoors despite the sun feeling warm through the living room windows.

I hear it's been cold: any chance of a Bonspiel this winter?
