Bit nippy first thing, first commute for a long time involving a jacket and full finger gloves. We have visitors from the Kingdom of Far Far Away, which is a usually a bit of a pain, will try to dispatch them as quickly as possible.

Onwards to free coffee, tax mitigation and delegation.

Took advantage of the reduced risk of an awkward chance meeting with @VinSumRox to make a gravel dash to the borders.

As per with the borders, the weather's not quite as promised but the coffee at the legendary Scot's Pine tearoom is excellent.

Afternoon
Out early to get a few miles in before meeting the others for Wednesdays midweek meander. 65 windy miles done with a coffee and scone stop at Lockton tea rooms.

A bitter sweet ride today. The weather came good and the cycling infrastructure played a blinder as I reached the Tweed.
Sadly my rear rim started to split today and with the EBB seized and the forks beginning to look a little corroded I think this might be the end for my 21 year old 'bike for life' Thorn.
I'll salvage the hub and try and put it on DD2's Gary Fisher.
Time to start converting my lately neglected 'midlife crisis' Van Nicholas into something fit for purpose.
