...was a little surprised- it weighed a tad over 91lbs! (or 6.5 stone- around 41kgs!). And that's before I jumped aboard adding a further 12.5 stone!

This is a fully loaded hybrid complete with lots of files, books, laptop, heavy locks and all the usual other stuff. I was carrying less than I often do, so it must top 100lbs on some rides (45kg) especially after the supermarket run on the way home. All that lager etc. Now I don't feel so bad as all the carbon brigade glide past me! I wondered whether I top the heaviest bike list?

Thank heaven for hand built 36 spoke wheels and a relatively flat 10 mile route.

And I thought my 24kg commuter was heavy:tongue:

Fair play, I thought I used to ride pretty heavy. Everything I needed to survive for the ride & a day at work. But I've slowly whittled it down to a more respectable lump of hi-viz concrete. But the weight your pulling is impressive.

Oh well- at least it must be making me fitter dragging all this extra weight about!
I did finally ditch a heavy pair of pliers that lived in my on board repair kit last year, when I failed to remember a single time I'd needed them in about 20 years.
I'm heavy, I'm slow, but at least I'm still happy!

Not sure about the bike but I am heavier that your lot before I even factor in the bike.

My commuter (a Vivente tourer) is 15kg unloaded, while the road bike (a Specialized Roubaix) is 8kg unloaded. I typically carry about 1 extra kg on these when using them. 41kg! That would keep you fit, @Glow worm. I'd be worried about your knees, though.

Spent years cycling in below freezing temps in shorts too. My knees will be fecked for sure before long!
My arms are probably in slightly better shape as I often have to carry my 100lb bike over this bridge near here where I live...

Mines 13kg with the mudguards, lights and water bottles on.
Not bad I suppose however this is also my good bike so I don't know any other way.

As an ebike rider I ought to be able to top the OP's 40kg, but I don't think I can.

My Rose ebike is about 25kg, I've not weighed the junk I carry but a D-lock, flask, and a few tools probably add about 6kg.

Here's a pic of the bike in full supermarket shopping trim, which is probably close to 40kg:

You could get that up quite easily by putting some panniers on with a few litres of water in them. Don't despair.
Like it said, unweighted ;) I do use panniers but seeing as how what I carry fluctuates from day to day, I never bother to measure the weight of those.
