 Not sure about the jam! Might try it one day!

as a kid, I loved lettuce & salad cream sarnies, but these days i opt for the classier mayo.

weirdest butty has got be my M&M&M butty... no not the former Treet sweets, the three m's; Marmite, Mustard & Mayo, or Marmite, Marmalade & Mayo if you're feeling inquisitive.

I recall having a sausage roll butty when there wasn't much in.... that was quite good as the sausage roll alone would, as is often the case, cover my jumper in flaky puff pastry shrapnel. Wrapping a sausage roll in bread is more about pastry management than making a sarnie.

Peanut butter & jam is a winner every time, as is cheese & jam, and of course peanut butter & Marmite

I hope mentioning toasted sandwiches isn't going too far off topic... any left over stew, curry, mixed veg from the Sunday roast is excellent in a toasted sandwich... and to make any toasted sandwich a thing of true wonder and delight, add a light spreading of Marmite on the outside of the bread... this burns as the bread toasts and tastes fan-bloody-tastic

Although I consider them normal, I have been told that fishfinger sarnies are the food of wierdos, Likewise fried egg sarnis too.

When I was "dahn sarf" I had a bacon sarnie... that also had butter on the bread - exotic!

Personal "regress back to chaildhood" is a frazzles sandwich. For people unlucky enough not to know, this is what a frazzle is...

I had Fish finger sarnie for my Xmas dinner.

They are indeed the food of gods, but, they need grated cheddar and Daddies sauce imho.

A 'butty' is a 'sarnie'

Or a 'piece' if you're in Scotchland the noo.

Cream Cheese, Banana and Honey

Sandwich shop opposite where I used to work always had a few of these ready made on the shelf - they looked pretty weird to me but I was assured there was demand! Had one once when I was late for lunch and it was all they had left - wasn't as bad as I thought but I wouldn't miss it if i never had another..
