So Spotify on my phone,i love music.Recently found Matt McClure and i love the raspy voice,so Spotify began bringing up new artists for me.Another one today.Backroad Raised, now this goes with others this past four weeks.Doc Raven,Frontier Heart, and Domus Made. But these groups all sound the same,it's weird, the music is brilliant just up my street, but i think it's manufactured it's weird,i think it's computer generated,is that possible, but i love it.

It's highly likely that the music is AI generated - the number which are is increasing rapidly.

AI artists are definitely a thing these days. Apparently places like gyms are using them (via Spotify?) as the fees tend to be much lower, but they still sound vaguely like "real" music to punters who aren't really listening ... the new lift music?

Even the artists name sounds like AI-generated!

Except maybe McClure - he could be a Simpsons character ...

When steaming platforms generate a whole playlist based on what you wanted to listen to, these days a lot some of that playlist will be AI generated music... that way they don't have to pay out quite so many royalty cheques to actual musicians and songwriters.

Don't you just love capitalism.

It doesn't work on me lol
I listen to 70s/80s/90s old hits, either in English or Italian.
I also like Greek music from the 60s ^_^
AI hasn't tried to replicate my old favorites yet.

I never knew this existed (to this extent). I presumed anything like that would be regulated and banned because strictly speaking it's plagiarism IMHO i.e. it's not your own work so must be someone else's. One could say that the developer/CEO/major shareholder of the AI programme is the author. It stinks. The songs weren't at all bad but if this is becoming "a thing" then yes the music industry will collapse in no time.

However, how long before we see "artists" creating music like this, editing a few things like tempo and a bit of reverb on the vocal, and saying they made it? This sort of thing will ruin it for actual singer songwriters and bands
