I'm a 6'3" man looking for a fast, rigid hybrid for a flattish commute in traffic. I want it to:
have flat handlebars (but not absurdly wide!),
have disc brakes,
have a single chainring at the front,
have either rear derailleur or alfine hub gears,
take mudguards and rear rack
be readily available in an extra large size
cost under £1000 (for cyclescheme eligibility)
be as light and well-built as possible at this price
I like the look of the Focus Planet 1.0 and the Charge Grater 3, but both seem really hard to get hold of in the largest size - to the point that I wonder whether they ever really made any?!
The Hoy Shizuoka .001 would do if I replaced the comically wide handlebars, but I'm not so sure about build quality?!
All comments and suggestions appreciated!
