So last friday i had a chap overtake me on a roundabout and damn near pinch me against the curb, its only a small roundabout and its really my fault for staying in secondary and not taking primary, his fault for thinking he can legally overtake on a roundabout and not almost flatten me.

its friday night and i'm tired, i point for him to pull over and he does so and the usual beratement and argument ensues with a choice quip of "Do you drive? what do you know about it?" at which point he drives off in a huff.

last night taking the same roundabout (now in primary) the car behind me waits patiently, then as he goes past he beeps at me and later pulls over.

then he apologizes. Turns out he'd had a really bad day that day and didn't mean to get irate, i apologized and we waved a cheery farewell.

all rather odd but i guess it must have played on his mind, after the argument i didn't give it another thought except that he was simply another "moton" and i got on with it.

i guess not all drivers are in fact total [deleted expletive]'s and actually do consider their actions on the road :blush:
just thought i'd share.

I've every respect for people who can admit they were wrong and apologise.

Did they apologise for their driving or the fact they got upset when you questioned their driving ability or both?

Being a bit harsh, I would rather not have someone take out they bad mood on vulnerable road users at all.

It was both, he apologized and said he shouldn't have done the manouvre and he shouldn't have blown up at me, i said the same i shouldn't have come on strong, we were both a bit irate i guess.

Godd result , everyone can have a bad day and at least he had guts to apologize rather than to blame the other person which it what normally happens

last driver i shouted OOOIIII ! at for trying to go over a mini roundabout when i was turning right turned around and chased me down the road .
