last driver i shouted OOOIIII ! at for trying to go over a mini roundabout when i was turning right turned around and chased me down the road .

Something like that happened to me whilst near the end of a club ride. The guy had barged past a few cyclists behind me and then went right up my bum down a hill (I took primary as I was in front). When the road flattened out, the guy sped past me followed by one of my cycling buddies, the driver turned onto an estate and the cycling guy just carried on and waited for us.
The idiot was stupid enough to think that a bunch of professional cyclists wouldnt keep up with him. Unfortunately I couldnt turn my camera on quick enough and it jammed (sodding thing).

i guess not all drivers are in fact total [deleted expletive]'s and actually do consider their actions on the road :blush:

You're having a better time on the commute than me then... The last driver I remonstrated with swerved his car at me in a (hopefully mock) attempt to knock me off (in the Science park... not sure if you go that way).

Don't understand most of that.

Yep, I've taken to trying to thank drivers far more often, just raising the hand in hopefully a manner that is interpreted as thanks,

  • The driver who gives you time at the junction and doesn't pull out making you slow down
  • The driver who waits patiently behind then overtakes giving plenty of room
  • The driver who lets you turn right without forcing his way past.
  • The oncoming driver at a pinch point who actually waits

Whether they always see the signal or not I don't know, hopefully the occasional one does.

Of course, today I had an expletive moment. Dead straight fairly quiet B road, I'm possibly a little far out avoiding puddles and drains. A car hammers up behind me and manages to lock his front wheels up when he realizes he'll hit the oncoming car. Really thought he was going to go into the back of me, certainly got the heart racing. Of course, maybe 100m further on having got past me, he turns right into a garden centre  He didn't get a cheery wave ....

in Birchwood? wouldn't honestly suprise me there's some proper morons work that way m8, i deal with their traffic so often on my bike its unreal, you want to see them all at the big roundabout on birchwood way, they've put those screens in now so its even more deadly because you can barely see the traffic coming and its doing so at about 50mph! every bugger either trying to get into the parks or out again.

I do wave thanks to drivers, those that wait or let me out etc, Moss will know that where Holcroft lane meets the A57 the lights there can be tricky and its nice to be let in when waiting for all the rush hour traffic to shift.
otherwise yeah good passes etc get a cheery wave cause in the end its nice to have someone consider you on the road.
the overtake you mention sounds like a similar incident this morning, passed some lights on liverpool road and made to go into the right hand lane, shoulder check and arm stuck out, there was a car a way back and i had room but for some reason he hit the gas as i moved out, then realised he couldn't move any further right and the left hand filter was blocked so had to slam on behind me then wait patiently at the lights. and also the next 60 yards of road after the turn as i sat in primary so i can turn right again.

Okay, The guy aggressively overtook cyclists behind me, tailgated me downhill, sped past me to turn right at a junction, followed by professional cyclists who weren't to happy with him endangering everyone's lives.
