Well, I was going to cycle to work.

Call me nesh, but it's just started to absolutely welly it down. I really don't fancy 12 miles in the pissing down rain, especially as all the stuff in my panniers will get wet and I'll haqve to spend the whole evening in damp clothes. I was well up for it earlier when the sun was shining, but now? nah.

It really is raining very hard out there. Bouncing off the road and running in a little river down the gutters. And it's windy.
I'm beginning to feel more sensible than nesh.

How do we know you're not making it up - you've got form.
Look at your 'ooo we've got an armed maniac with AK47s and semtex up the road' thread.
Granted a popular thread but it has got a touch of the Keith Waterhouse about it.

And the 'I'm giving up the fags, again! (It's EASY! I've done it many times)'

It's the smart thing to do
I rarely cycle when it's pissing it down, just don't enjoy it. Quit like going for a run when it's cold and wet though for some reason.

In your avatar, is that cigarette smoke coming out of your cab?

Very dark here in the City of London despite the fact it's only 3.22. Very fast moving black cloud. How long 'till the rain comes?

I have to cycle home since, er, that's what I do.

It has just started that steady, depressing drizzle here.

On last weeks form however I'm sure that it will stop soon..... cos in about an hour I'll be riding home, and the drizzle will have turned into full on monsoon; complete with howling head winds no doubt.

I totally agree with you RT! It's supposed to be pleasure. I spent until I was about 19 'having' to go out on clubruns, hail, rain, snow - and there's no way anyone will make me now! I don't mind so much if it rains whilst I'm out but unless I've got to go home, I just don't cycle in it.
