I'm in the rather fortunate position in that my missus works for McVities, and therefore we have a never ending supply of every type of biscuit they make, my personal favourite just now is the dark chocolate digestive, it also perhaps explains why i'm approx 12 kilo overweight

Raised in the Eccles area I have to say that you can't beat a pint of tea and a full packet buttery Eccles cakes after a long bike ride. It certainly beats the Chorley cake.

When I were a lad, Wagon Wheels were huge, ginormous , as big as er .......................... wagon wheels!

But now they're quite small. I can't possibly think what might have changed in the intervening years.

Along with Curly Wurlys.. they really were the size of a small ladder.

I'm talking about those teacakes that everyone seems to have at their birthday party.

The domeshaped chocolate covered marshmallow ones with the biscuit bottom. Wrapped in silver and red foil, and come in packs of 10 in a long yellow and red box.
Errr since when did Tunnock's Teacakes come in boxes of 10?
Why was I not informed of this?

Proto, Ian and 3BM: do you think it's possible we've all just got old?

You know when you got a selection pack, was there always one thing you didn't like? For me it was Marathons, I don't like peanuts in a chocolate context.

They are called Snickers now, and they are my favourite, so I could look after them for you Arch!

While we're on the subject, who else eats a Tunnocks teacake by nibbling off all the chocolate covering the mallow? Why do so many of us (like me) have the urge to deconstruct our food bit by bit. I'm the same with jaffa cakes.

I used to break the top of the teacake, much as you might do with a boiled egg; this made removing the chocolate top easier, so easing access to the mallowy bit. Yum. Now (like Vernon) for me it's a one bite delight. It impresses the kids and earns me a telling off from Mrs F for teaching them bad manners.

Jaffa cakes must have edges eaten first, then sponge nibbled off bottom off remainder, then chocolate licked off the top, then let the orangey bit (which has shrunk over the years) melt on the tongue.
