Tonights 8 miles was, probably the hardest, torrential rain that i've ever cycled in on my commute.
I cycle along the busiest roads through the heart of Southampton, but tonight was quite scary........I could hardly see a thing. The roads were rivers.
But tomorrows another day.........It's meant to be worse !!! hahahahaha!!!

Doesn't beat Bangkok on the RAMA IV pal.

As long as I breathe, I attack.
Drenched and nearly blown into the gutter

Looked at the weather forecast for tomorrow and convinced the wife to let me have the car and i shall use it as a means to take a weeks worth of clothes into work and then kick myself all day when it turns out nice ............

I normally do not wimp out for weather but feeling a bit run down , achey etc so i did not need much of a reason this week ;)

Good things about rainy weather commuting:
  1. Provin' I'm 'ard/tough/stupid enough to do it.
  2. Not overheating.
  3. That's about it really.
Bad things about rainy weather commuting:
  1. Being wet!
  2. Drying wet gear in time to use it again the next day (not a problem when one has a steam turbine to stand it all next to:biggrin:)
  3. My 3-month-old VDO AD08 has ceased to function, I presume due to moisture ingress.
  4. My rather older Smart 5 LED rear light (one of two rear lights) wouldn't switch on this morning. When I took it apart I found it wouldn work due to, yes you've guessed, moisture ingress! :wahhey:

Well done mate its days like this that sort the men from the boys !

If only Sony Ericsson made bike lights and computers. My blue tooth has just survived a trip through a washing machine cycle and appears none the worse for its ordeal!

I kind of like a drenching, on the way home, not so keen on the way in but even so its only water and is rarely fatal in the form of rain, though I can do without the drivers who dont slow down in it.

Yeah, I noticed this morning that despite puddles lakes all over the roads there were plenty of motons gleefully tailgating each other and driving at speed as though it were a bright sunny day - a fair few with no lights on as well.

Still, if they plough into a queue of people waiting for a bus and wipe half of them out, it won't be their fault 'cos they "simply lost control due to the conditions".

So where were they today?...Noticed missing by the fact of lack of cyclists on my commute today.

You could use it as a headlight?;)
