...they could be right!
following the fire/antisocial behaviour issues at my flat, i have had a visit from council maintenance today. They have decided to bring part of the maintenance forward planned for 2017. The works planned are new floor, suspended ceilings, walls painted, new front and back security door with electronic security fob instead of key, video intercom, new windows back and front stretching full height of block, and all posh lighting etc. Currently it is 70s styling, very yuk. I've seen the photos of the work they are doing across the other side of town and it looks like the mutts nuts.
but the best thing...normally i would have to pay for this BUT its going thro the insurance bcoz of the fire and I'm not paying a penny. The whole job for the planned maintenance in 2017 is £36,000 ... Of which i have to pay a quarter!! Although they are not bringing the grounds refurb forward, only the building refurb, i reckon the majority of that £36k would have been for the building refurb... and i think the fire has just saved me around £5 - 6,000!!!
