Welsh police mobile crack down

Police in Wales have been having a crackdown recently on mobile phone use and the link above shows the results. Not sure it's comforting or not that my area force collared the most.
It was announced when the crack down was going to take place, it's a pity we have to have a campaign for it rather than it being the norm.

I allways notice more traffic police presence when over the border in Dyfed. Makes the roads safer I say.

Quite a few dyfed powys police are cyclists.I was chatting to some of them on the merlin sportive a few years back.maybe thats why they hit the mobile phone users hard.

If they started treating phone users like drink drivers maybe then the message would get through that it isnt acceptable.

^Next level offending, drink in one hand phone in the other, john thomas for steering? . From my experience of Dyfed Powys police in the past I would'nt give them any credit. There was a pub known for lock-ins near where I used to live in Powys and the rozzers used to drive there after their shift for beers, and then as the pub was in the asrse end of nowhere, they'd all drive home afterwards, setting a good example for all.

My folks live in an area of Powys with no mobile phone reception, in 2014, amazeballs. On the plus side I guess my chances of being mown down by a driver on the phone when I'm there is reduced.

I live in London now and on my commute see drivers using phones every single day without fail, so its definately something that needs cracking down on.
