Well, that's the funny thing about forums and YouTube. People do come on here and learn stuff, and a small proportion of them make comments about having done so.
I agree you can learn things here but it should all be amalgamated and assimilated with your own thoughts, ability, perception of risk and more importantly the situation you find yourself in.

Any one who says "I stopped at an amber light because that's what martint235 would have done" should have their bike removed. :thumbsup:

Well, I'm glad you're giving your own advice the good old heave-ho now. It was all just a bit of contrariness from you, wasn't it?

Personally, I'll always try to be aware of what's behind me when stopping at the lights, and I'll take some sort of action if I feel I'm in danger of being rear ended. That usually just means holding up my left arm (rear brake) in a stop signal, but it might also mean modulating my braking to run a little further on past the stop line, and rarely it might even mean going across on amber.

Don't get this bit. My position hasn't changed in the slightest. I always base my decisions on risk, ability and the situation at the time.
