Heard this fascinating USAsian report into the assassination of Yitzhak Rabin. Apparently the conspiracy theory is so widespread, that the mother of the men who confessed to the murder believes that a pickpocket took the gun out of her son's pocket, replaced the bullets with blanks and returned it. Thus, even though he tried to shoot Rabin, and Rabin died, a huge (right wing/leftwing - pick one) conspiracy means that he in fact survived this "shooting", but somehow died on the way to hospital anyway.

Weird, and a real insight into the human mind, if we could understand why this is believed.
