Seriously? What planet are you from? I've worked with many, many fat and talented people. It's very common to have a problem in one aspect of your life and still work well in others: binge drinking, serial adulterers, gamblers etc etc. In fact, I'd much rather work with someone who had food issues, as it's less likely to impinge on work.

gb155: how incompetent were you before you lost the weight?

I'm more incompetent now as I spend all day dreaming of bikes - out sprinting others :-)

Joking aside - I'm in a better job now but have always been held in a very high regard

All I'll say is it involved me rocking up beside the window of the two-hat in question, telling him, "you're the **** who aggressively cut me up on my bicycle the other day, aren't you?" Then he tried to get away. Then he realised that a motorbike is faster than a car.
