What Album Is So Good...

Yesterday Ghost released their third album Meliora. I think it's so good that I'm now listening to it for the fifth time in two days! Earlier this Muse released Drones and Faith No More released Sol Invictus, both of which I similarly played over and over because I liked them so much.

This got me thinking about other albums that have had a similar effect on me. There haven't been that many. Slayer's Reign In Blood, Pink Floyd's Dark Side Of The Moon and Herbie Hancock's Headhunters are three that string to mind.

Has this year been that exceptional for music? What albums have you had this experience with?

Ottawan 2, "Hands up" always gets me going.

Songs From the Wood, Jethro Tull.

Like Clockwork, Queens of the Stone Age.

Elect the Dead, Serj Tankian.

Nothing from this year has particularly captured my imagination though.

I can't remember the last time i got a new album that was so good i had to immediately listen to it again... i think I've got far too much music these days. Back when i had ten or twenty albums is was common to play the latest over and over.

@Drago ...songs from the wood got me banned from taking tapes in to my shelf stacking job at Wilko's, but it also prompted the manager to throw all his old Tull LPs in my direction

@John the Monkey Kind Of Blue is one of mine too (I didn't mention all of them ). I remember listening to Bitches Brew a lot when I got it but that might've been more to try to work it out! I love pretty much all Miles Davies now.
