Jerry Lee Lewis 'Old Time Religion', a previously unissued recording of JLL when he renounced rock and roll (for a couple of weeks) back in 1970, recorded at a small church on Highway 41 in Memphis. The songs all have a religious theme, don't let that put you off if you're a heathen though as this is some fine music, Jerry Lee preaches between songs and even flogs his latest LP "you need this record and we need the money" - he's in fine form on this disc, great voice and ivory bashing, good band too. Usual top quality remastering and packaging from Bear-Family Records.

Rusty Wier's LP 'Black Hat Saloon'. Progressive country or prog c*nt as we call it. One of the finest records ever made, it really is wonderful stuff and definitely in my top 10. Here's a clip of Rusty live in 1990 in Austin, Texas playing his, one and only, hit 'Don't it make you wanna Dance' - poor old bugger died of cancer a couple of years ago, only 65, tragic loss.
