Mine used to be lonely in the stairwell on its own, but lately it's been joined by an Ikea-blue folding Raleigh bike belonging to one of my colleagues. She got it from Ebay - apparently it's one of the ones IKEA gave away to employees a few years ago. She's removed the Ikea logo!

My work colleagues are generally very good so I don't mind which bike I park it near. One of the bikes is a Boardman but I can't remember what some of the others are called, how embarrassing officer.

I ask as my research into buying a folder continues. Thanks
You might want to know that with quick release wheels and seat, most of a folding bike is potentially stealable! you can chain it carefully, but most foldies seem to just take it in to work with them. And a bike under your desk should be highly secure!

i have to move from customer site to customer site once in London, also looking at a beater bike to leave at my local station, and another bike double D locked at Paddington. certainly saves on buying a Brompton

We don't have many cyclists:

That's my Giant on the left, BSO, a Dawes sit-up and an electric thing.

There are many places in the college to park my bike, but I choose the staff parking (because its sheltered and has lockable cages). I park my bike right next to a foldable bike which has quite a bit of kit on it. It looks pretty cool!. The owner even used SPD's on it and has drop bars. I havent met the owner but the bike is always there in the morning and always gone in the evening.
They even use a little ramp to prevent the bike from rolling back (a door stop thingy).

So what bikes do you park next to?
Complete mix at my place. This being Sheffield, it's always been dominated by mountain bikes and road bikes, but we're starting to get more vareity now. More ladies bikes, quite a few sporty hybrids and a couple of electric bikes. There's a really stunning Dawes Ultra Galaxy in there most days.
I love looking at other people's bikes, I find it intriguing that such different bikes can suit people depending on their different needs!

Found in the Yorkshire hills ...
... although one of the others is unlocked. Apparently the owner is 'going to get round to moving it' [the unlocked bike], although it's been there for over a year  .

The unlocked one's been stolen  - having been sat there for a year the owner now wants the culprit found.

And no, it wasn't me!

A couple of standard commuter style bicycles and a BSO, mine is the only roadie there.

I was looking at them the other day, in particular at the BSO which is this BMX thing with the bar/pegs on the wheels to do what all the hip kids call an excuse for a "stunt".
The seat on this thing is about a centimetre from the back wheel, which means there is a 30 Degree or so (guestimated) upwards angle between you and the bars.... I just can't understand how you can ride it. For me, if the seat is only a little bit out I notice a significant difference, let alone dropped all the way to the bottom.

I park next to my wife's bike, which is the same as mine but WSF.
Quite often our bike racks at work are all full, but luckily for me my boyfriend works in the same place but starts before me and finishes after so I just lock my bike to his! I get a few funny looks sometimes!

One Kraken (new this summer), one Subway (old & well used) & a couple of BSO. Though recent closer inspection is suggesting one of them isnt & it's been stealthed up (down?) to look like a BSO  The other BSO is not locked & never has been in the five or six years I've been commuting by bike.
