I have a road bike that was marketed as a racing bike but I've never raced on it. I've never done a sportive on it either. I use it for audaxes and I suppose you could count audax as 'light touring', but I also use it for club rides, which you couldn't. It doesn't have mounts for racks or mudguards.

I have another road bike that you could call a sportive bike, though it wasn't marketed specifically as such and I've never done a sportive on that one either. I have used it for audaxes though. Again, no rack or mudguard mounts.

Luckily, my CX bike is singlespeed, so I can mark it down in that category instead.

I also have a fixed gear road bike, so I really want to tick that box twice. I've also done audaxes on the fixie and it does have rack and mudguard mounts.

My Brompton is indubitably a folder, but not a shopper - not sure why they are counted as one category.

I also have a hybrid which isn't really a rigid mtb but that's the closest category.

Also, what about trikes?

Got one wheel too many to qualify for this thread

I have three bikes at the moment. A road bike, a Surly LHT (full on tourer) and a hybrid, which is my most used bike. Unfortunately I couldn't place the hybrid in any of the categories. I guess it could be a flat bar road bike, light tourer or shopper, as it has been used in each of these categories.

There is no finer thing to collect than bikes, stamps, toby jugs, star trek memobrilia and any other crap serves no purpose
Whisky? It's a close call.

As for my vote, it's light tourer. I've never really needed anything else, though I did once have a full-blooded road bike.

Full susser...a road bike and the flat bar commuter.
I like all 3 of them if I'm honest.it's just finding the time for them all.
Tho I'll be using my road bike for extended commuting soon, as I can do a 12-15 mile run to work instead of the normal 6.5.
I can also do a decent XC ride if I want so I'm looking forward to my work commutes this year.
Finally have a job where I can cycle ...instead of needing my van..I've wanted to do that for a long time..

I would love to, and recumbents etc, but maxed out on the number of categories it permits memto have
Just combine light and full on tourer and add one for "Extrovert poser"

That should cover cargo bikes, trikes, recumbents et

I voted for full sus mtb, but would also have voted for while if there had been a category for it.

But if it has four wheels it isn't a bike. The thread is about bikes.

But is it?

"Bike" is often used as a Generic term and is inclusive of all types and wheel numbers

We used to organise "bike rides" and had all sorts turning up even Jim Mc Gurn / Geoff Apps Bike Train, 7 wheels and 5 passengers

All were included
