What colour is your sitting room/lounge/front room/living room ?

Some mad sounding colour schemes, I love it. I like the idea of a purple sofa. The husband dislikes purple so I don't think we'll be having much of it, sadly.

We've just changed the covers on our sofa, funnily enough red furniture doesn't really go with orange walls.

Just changed our colour scheme yesterday. It was magnolia and white, but now it's white and magnolia.

So the photo did come later..... That kitchen is a few bikes worth......!

Oooh I am really envious. That looks ace.

Our current kitchen is pretty boring but the previous owners went for inoffensive pastel colours so it's livable with. I would like to liven it up though.... Not sure what my husband will say about lime green though.

Our entire house has not been decorated or changed in any way whatsoever since the old dear we bought it off purchased it as an ex show home in 1968. Sad story, She moved in with her new husband, sadly he was killed at work 3 months after they moved in, she never re married and lived here on her own untill she was to frail to cope with such a big house and moved into a small one bed bungalow. She made us promise we would turn it into the family home she hoped it would be when she moved in. Ill give her credit, the house is a time warp with all the original fixtures and fitting all look like a few years old, she maintained the place well with the added benefit of her being the only persone lining here. Work starts soon for a total re-fit, we're moving out and its getting gutted. I shall photograph the bathrooms and kitchen before they are taken out, must have been quite modern an designer when new. We intend to redecorate keeping it period albeit with a slight modern twist.

Contact museums and see if they want the original items then, don't just chuck them!!

No intention of chucking anyting if i can help it. The kitchen, that will be sold, it's immaculate for its age, someone will refit it i dare say. Anything else that can be reused will be free cycled etc... Throwing is a last resort.

Good good, but as I say, see if any museums are interested first, especially the kitchen so it remains
original!!

EDIT: There must be design and interior museums out there, and if all else fails, contact Robert Opie at The Museum Of Brands, as they have period items that go along with the consumer items on show from the different decades.
