What commuter tyres do you use?

Bontrager Race Lite Hardcases for me - not a problem in over 2000 miles.

I've just had to order a new one for the back. Noticed an alarming 3-4 inch patch that was thread bare whilst cleaning the bike at the weekend. Didn't notice it the week before so God only knows how it happened in the space of seven days.

Another vote for Conti Ultra Gatorskins 700x23 - have used them for a whole year but only one puncture per wheel in that time. They are pretty much cut to shreds now though, so time for some new ones I think.

What's not to like?

there's a right tyre out there for every one I suppose

I'm reluctantly about to change the Lugano on the front, been there for an age, word completely bald and inumerable damage from inumerable sharp things but only ever two very slow pin prick flats in a hectic week where the a madman followed me around with an icepick it seemed

I get through them on the rear, I'm a big chap doing a fair amont of hard braking, but they last and barring one lost to a side wall gash, they wear routinely and without drama or suprises, the same couldn't be said for the tyres I used before them

These were the tyres i got 4 fairies in a week with...........

and i got five, and since then three months withthe exact same pair and nada, sometimes it just happens I think, been using them for nearly 18 months and very happy with them, not least because of the low cost

anyway, everyone has what suits them

Conti Grand Prix 4 Seasons - not cheap £30-£35 each, but the rear has lasted all year - loads of life left in it but just got another on order. Great grip in all weathers (major factor for me), light weight but tough. Only 2 'visits' in a year - one glass shard, one staple.

I've heard the Bonti Race Lights are good, and cheap, but wet grip not fab, but for the price they are great value !

I've just got whatever came as standard with my carrera subway. Have done over 1500 miles on them and had 1 puncture (yesterday) in a year. Was a huge staple!
