The poor quality (creaking/groaning) of my recent Trek purchase. First bike couldn't be sorted and nor could the replacement bike. A Trek will never darken my garage again.

No doubt there are masses of Treks out there that are 100% AOK but I had two duffers in a row and am disenchanted with the brand.

I was surprised!
Sounds like you need to reserve your ire for press fit BBs, in which case it's Cannondale that should be placed in the stocks for starting them.

Thomson Ellie seat post. I got a ride which was far more comfortable than the stock vector one. Absolutely want expecting that.

@Cycleops

First bike had a creaking/groaning isospeed decoupler and BB. Neither responded to fettling by the LBS.

The second bike had a clicking/rattling noise from the headset area and the LBS could not determine the cause.

They offered to send the bike back to Trek for 'a few weeks' for them to have a go but by then I'd had enough.

Solid ( or airless to give them their official name ) tyres. I was told they were "crap" and like riding on "tubes full of concrete", and "dangerous", and "you can't ride those in the wet, you'll be killed to death". Having ridden with them for a fair few miles, in all sorts of conditions, and even over such things as wet cattle grids, I can say that I have been pleasantly surprised that I haven't ended up in a mangled heap, given all the "knowledge" out there, about them:eek:.

Drinks bottles from Poundland , as recommended on here.

I had fairly low expectations, but have to say they're good.

Di2.......Absolutely brilliant, so precise and quick.

Here for rides.
Hope Carbon seat post. Completely changed the feel of the "back-end" of the bike.
