At the age of 57 years...my first EVER bike for christmas

Just a Raleigh Activ Oakland hybrid, needed to replace my old trusty Trek which was getting well used and has been 'owned' by my son, leaving me without a general purpose bike.

Now fitted with a Bikemate computer, ready for its first outing.

Also got a pair of Bikesters/Tracksters, and a saddle bag...plus a few other non bike related bits.

last year's gifts are still in a bag in my bedroom, as are the previous year's as i usually get festive socks I'll never wear, cheap deodorant that I'll never spray on myself, plus a book I'll never read, and maybe a game I'll never play.

this year though, not bad... a hulk fist oven glove (I've needed new oven gloves for yonks), a 12" vinyl style glass chopping board (very cool, and goes with the vinyl coaster set i was given for my birthday), a selection of ale (always gets drunk) and a wallet (I don't use wallets)... so three good prezzies out of four isn't bad at all. :okay:

But it's not about that... Mother loved the bumper box of soap and smelly stuff. The nieces liked their soap and bath bombs, the gt. nephews loved the dastardly dragon and gruesome griffon, and Dad may never wear his new slippers... but he is the man who has everything.

Got a new pair of padded shorts a short sleeve jersey and some money to go get a long sleeve fleece lined jacket for those colder days. Oh and bought myself a couple of pairs of Boardman cycling socks from halfords for £3 in the sale as all my other sports socks seem to be falling apart.

Non cycling related well it seems to be mainly chocolate chocolate oh and more chocolate. The whole idea of getting into cycling was to loose weight not put it on....
