I'm struggling to think of things i saw in my youth that i don't see today. The hay never used to be plastic wrapped but were usually in a big roll rather than the traditional 'stack'.

Village shops and pubs. One of the joys of touring in my youth was the knowledge that between 12 and 3 o'clock every weekday I could get a pint just about anywhere.

I rember the haystacks being built.The bales were lifted to the top on a conveyer.and if memory serves the top was angled like a house roof and thatched to shed water.

The only one of those things the OP quoted that we do not have here is Giant Haystacks ( the wrestler). :laugh:
