I get my clothes from scarecrows. If you see a nude scarecrow you know ive been in the area.

Its surprising what wildlife you can come across even in the evil south of England once away from the towns and big roads. I’m in the west of the city so the wildlife can come in from Farley Mount way without being blocked by a massive motorway cutting.

 Did that involve some underage drinking on St Catherine’s Hill? That’s practically a right of passage.
There's hardly a single place that wasn't used for that purpose. The Royal Oak was the favourite pub.

What I don't miss is seeing dead voles and crows hung on fencing.

When I was a kid, we used to cycle out to Farley Mount to catch the Dawn Chorus. It used to be amazing and probably still is.

There seems to be fewer hares around. It is a rare treat to see one now. There is no room for them or much else in the monoculture fields you get now.

Please feel free to round up all the hares from around here and take them with you. Bloody pests, they always run out in front of me when bombing down hills at 30+mph.

^ Screen grab from a go pro video, it is actually a lot closer than it looks and not holding it's line in the sprint.
