I'm thinking how bloody much??? I'm sure this has been discussed on here before but for what it's worth I'm pretty sure the police around here would pull you for it.
I wouldn't wear one personally , I think they'd just make you look like a knob lol

Would prefer the vest if it just had the police like chevrons across the shoulders (minus the writing)

It has the same advertising value as a 'nobber alert' as the 'caution baby inside' rear windscreen doodah. I wouldn't treat the wearer any differently than any other hi viz wearer when approaching them in my car.

As described it makes drivers look twice,me included.

I wouldn't think once never mind twice. I'd know without thinking that the wearer was a twat.

It made me look twice :P The problem being in my area people would most like speed up and use the vest as a target.

FTFY

Yes it probably would make people more careful initially, however, once they realise what it is you would become a target for at least some verbals, likely more.

Do I need to get the spray plaster out?
I use these they work absolute wonders & I have been nicely surprised by the response

I don't need vulnerable road users (or any road users for that matter) to wear hi-viz to 'help' me 'see them'.......I see them anyway because I am already LOOKING for them. I am a very observant and careful/considerate driver/cyclist, and drive/ride accordingly.

The creeping H&S bullsh*t that has infested the workplace is being pushed onto cyclists......my question is why?

Any H&S risk assessment will only use PPE as a final measure, and it would not at the first thing to use. H&S legislation would address/remove the hazard rather than make the most vulnerable road user dress up like Bob the Builder.
