My Mum was in her garden once, crouching down weeding, when a pigeon flew low over her head, and into the garage wall. It was a bit stunned, walked about a bit and then sat there looking drowsy. She could see it had a leg ring, like a racing bird, so called th RSPCA for advice. They said to give it access to water, but not food, so she did, and put the old Guinea pig wire run over it to keep the foxes and cats off. Next morning it looked perkier. She lifted the run, and it walked back to the spot it had hit the ground, turned round a couple of times, and took off, this time clearing the garage and heading off in the direction it had been going. She said it was uncanny how it went back to the exact spot, like it needed to pick up a path again.
