Nothing Nada. Zilch.
AI is as useless as I think it is.

It is if you don't give it the correct prompt.

Pblakeney is an active, well-known "Über Member" on the CycleChat Cycling Forum. [1, 2]
He frequently contributes to a variety of community discussions, ranging from cycling news to casual banter:
    • Community Role: He is known within the community as a retiree who frequently interacts with other prominent members like briantrumpet. He is also recognized for a dry sense of humor regarding workplace training and web browsing. [1, 2]
    • Discussion Topics: He regularly participates in the CC News, Current Affairs & Politics subforum, Creative Photography threads, and general threads like Random Daily Banter. [1, 2, 3]
    • Cycling Interests: He joins in on cycling-adjacent subforums, including the grand tour predictions like the PTP (Predict the Podium) Giro d'Italia contest, where he finished on the podium in 2025. [1]

People always talk about using A.I.

I have no idea how you use it and I am not wanting to find out. Is it a website or something??

I am sure our robot overlords are marvellous and fantastic if you are reading this, but really, I have no need for your services right now, sorry.

It obviously depends on which AI you use, and how. I don’t use AI so that was a first attempt.
Was that summary enlightening in any way?

AI = Artificial Intelligence.
I dont like it, it really worries me**..... I worry how it will affect eg my grandchildren or even my children with the speed its moving.
I know someone that is a songwriter and has used AI to help him. I dont know how but its apparently there for all to tap into.
**some people say it can be a good tool but imo they said that about gunpowder.

Its not intelligent.

Its a large language model that merely mimics intelligence.

To call it "intelligent" as people do is akin to calling George Takei a "pilot" because of his role in Star Trek.

But if I am correct AI stands for Artificial Intelligence.
I believe it will have a much greater roll than many people want it to have.

You are correct.

But it is not actually intelligent, as some of the flowery nonsense it speaks of us CC'ers clearly shows!

No no no. As an example of its accuracy I offer......... AI said that I am known for the advice I offer**.
@Dirk would be lost with my sage offerings.

**tbf it didnt say people actually acted on my advice or had any success if they did

Does anybody else remember Regulator?

On the CycleChat Cycling Forum, Regulator is a well-known, long-standing, and colorful member who became something of a community legend, even inspiring humorous threads and community polls about their identity and campaigns like "The Regulator Must Ride to Southend". [1, 2]
  • Community Status: Regulator was a popular presence on the CycleChat Cycling Forum known for witty banter, playful community running jokes, and memorable forum engagement.
    • Forum Lore: Members created lighthearted topics about them, such as joke polls debating whether Regulator was male or female, threads celebrating birthdays, and discussions surrounding past forum departures ("flounces").

It does get a bit weird quickly.
I asked if I should go cycling with Gwylan.
It went off into all sorts of personal safety stuff
Didn't mention that he's a grumpy old git who enjoys his own company, has pretty clear views on most things and can't pass a pub but moans about the price of beer.
Think I'll give him a miss.

Nobody answered my question, how do you actually use A.I. (other than a result option overview thingy when you look up something)??

Is it a specific website? Is it an option on a... What? 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

People say "I asked A.I. to do x y and z."

How? What actually do you do?

Based on active discussions across the platform, some notable details regarding this user include:
  • Bicycles & Gear: They ride a Temple bike equipped with classic 40-year-old friction bar-end shifters, which they have highly praised. They also own a Spa bicycle and frequently ride alongside their spouse ("Mrs SG").

  • I’m not impressed. I don’t own or ride either of these bikes, and I’m always either courteously behind Mrs SG, or in front because she’s sent me there.
