Speaking of which @stephec, I watched Iron Lung this afternoon (which is based on a game).

At just over 2 hours, it seriously stretched even my patience at times. Didn't help that it's essentially watching one guy in a submarine for the whole time.

If they'd cut it down to 90 minutes it would probably feel as tight and enjoyable as the best submarine based films, but the first half really was a slog.

That said, I'd still recommend it, because it's really well shot and goes with physical effects and props rather than CGI (mostly), which I'm always a fan of.

First half, 4/10, second, 7/10.

Two hours is about my limit if its a good film, speaking of iron though, I've got Iron Sky lined up again in the not too distant future, now that is quality trash.

Shame the sequel was so poor, and essentially bankrupted the production company.

Nobody (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nobody_(2021_film)), then Nobody 2 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nobody_2)

I'd actually started watching Nobody back in the winter and given up. But now I've also got the sequel so decided to give them a go.

Bit silly predictable, OTT, but for me they sort of worked as in mindless unbelievable film. Nothing to make you think. Must have been fun enough as I watched the sequel only 1 cup of coffee after watching the first.

Somehow they (as a pair) did make me think how older film ideas are beingre-used with slight variations. eg in this pair you can almost see ideas from True Lies (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/True_Lies), Mr & Mrs Smith (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mr._&_Mrs._Smith_(2005_film)), the Long Kiss Goodnight (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Long_Kiss_Goodnight), etc.

Watched Django Unchained. Had the surround sound on, blimey it was good.
I watch it some time ago and thing that confused me was the language or rather some of the words included. Whilst there is a historical context, even so these some of the words used cause a massive outcry in any context for any reason. Without wanting to stray into aspects limited to "the other place" the aspect that confused me was eg massive outcry when individual suffering Tourette's syndrome uses a word once and massive outcry yet film uses the same language repeatedly and it appears accepted.

Last night I finally got round to watching "How to get to Heaven from Belfast." It's a six part series on Netflix. If you like your "crime" drama funny, quirky, dark and slightly bonkers this is for you. I loved it.
