Just emerged from the two hour CGI-fest that is Thor: Ragnarok, watched at the insistence of my daughter who, for reasons that escape me, is a big fan of all things Marvel. Just dross. Two hours of mind-numbing 'action' - incessant fighting, mostly - and relentless CGI. No characters, no plot, no narrative, nothing - just a fake landscape awash with frenetic movement, brightly coloured light, and noise. Oh, and 'humour', apparently. Worse than bad. Actually depressing. Popular movies used to mean Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid ('Who are those guys?') Now it appears to be this. God help us all.

Excellent fun and quite funny

Not as much outlandish CGI as in other films of the Marvel universe

There have been a couple of duds recently hovering about or under 5 / 10 -- Touch Me Not, Suspiria (Oh Ms Swinton what are you doing?), Styx, Todos Lo Saben, Loro, The Conductor, The Sisters Brothers (A French cowboy film; no, it's not that funny), Burning, Pity -- but this one is an absolute corker. Go watch:

Saw Bohemian Rhapsody at the cinema Saturday night. What a great film! 9/10.

I wasn't a massive Queen fan but did like most of their music and grew up with them being on the radio all the time.

As for Freddie Mercury: not just one of the best voices in music, but undeniably (IMO) the greatest front man - ever.
