Just found Dogma on Youtube, the entire movie. Lots of mirth the first time I saw it, circa 2000.
Might be worth a second viewing if only it wasn't such a rubbish quality file.

Ooh, there's a better copy on on the Internet Archive.

One of my favourite facts about that film is that when Kevin Smith tested Jason Mewes to make sure he had learnt his lines, the following exchange took place:

“Where’s your f*cking script, assh*le?” I sighed.
“I don’t need it.”
“You don’t need your script for rehearsals. Right. Take mine and let’s get going.”
“I’m telling you, I don’t need it. Go ahead. Try me.”

So I turned to the first Jay and Silent Bob scene and fed him Bethany’s lines, and without looking at my script, Mewes delivered Jay’s lines in a letter-perfect fashion.

“Alright, so you’ve got the first scene down,” I allowed. “Let’s mix it up and try a scene from later in the flick.”

So I fed him his lead-in lines from the church exterior scene, and Mewes spits out the Jay responses without hesitation.

“You memorized all your lines already?!” I demanded, shocked.
“Uh-huh.”
“All of ‘em?!”
“Yeah. Everyone else’s, too.”
“Yeah, right”
“Try me.”

I read him Loki’s lines from a Jay-less scene, and amazingly, he responded with Bartleby’s lines. I was dumbfounded, to say the least.

“You memorized ALL the lines in the script?!?!”
“Even the girl parts.”
“What’re you, f*cking ‘Rain Man’?! Why’d you memorize the whole goddamn script?!”
“I don’t wanna piss off that Rickman dude.”

It is one of my favouritest movies ever. Probably Kevin Smith's best. At the time the movie came out there were catholics in the US picketing cinemas that were showing it. I heard a story that Kevin Smith went into one of the protests and managed to get himself interviewed by a news crew as if he was a protester.

Its one of mine too, I'll probably be watching this week now as it's in my head. Jason Lee is superb in this, and I always wanted to buy a poo-demon model but I never found one (I do have Jay and Silent Bob figures though).

Oh that's true about the protest:

I went to a late night post-pub viewing when it was originally released. My pal and I were a bit the worse for wear and found it very hard to follow. We eventually found out that it wasn't just the booze to blame... The cinema manager stopped the projection, came to the front, and apologised for mixing up the order of the reels of film. We were invited back the following night to watch them in the correct sequence!

Its not a lot easier to follow when shown in the correct order.

The Contractor.
Chris Pine fails to take the military-industrial baton from Bourne in a dull tale of private military contractors fool enough to kill other PMCs without thinking that they will be next.

Pearl. A bit slow and moody, a great performance by the lead actress, but ultimately a bit boring. Some horror themes were touched upon but had they cut out an hour of her trying to be Dorothy Gale then they would have had time to do something a lot more horrific
