Well, in that case, I'm chucking Legally Blonde right at the top of the pile. Can't tell you how many times I've watched it and I still enjoy it.
In fact, I'm now watching the spin-off series, Elle on Prime.

I almost gave up at the start, ODing on giggles and makeup, but...
... I did quite enjoy it!
Now, shall I watch the 2 sequels?

We too are enjoying it. The central character is unexpectedly well cast and although it's full of self parody, nostalgic references and obvious plot twists, the writing's strong enough to carry it off.

Evil Dead Burn - 9/10
Wisely brought some of the humourous elements back which has been missing from the reboot and Evil Dead Rise.
Pretty relentless as the Deadites involved are on a quest to get the Kandarian Dagger, which does get kind of forgotten about during the action.
Top quality gore and practical effects, and some fun easter eggs for fans of the franchise.
Evil Dead Wrath comes out in a couple of years, going back in time to before the first film. I'm hoping for some more back story because as much as I love them, I always feel they don't do anything like enough with the mythology, it just gets hinted at.

The Death of Robin Hood - 8/10
Ultra violent and bleak for the first half, then meditative and healing for the second. The glacial pacing and lingering shots won't be for everyone, but I think it's a thing of beauty.
With a cast as minimal as this, you really need two powerhouse leads, fortunately Hugh Jackman and Jodie Comer are more than up to the task.
Definitely a more accurate take on the legend compared to the twee confections that have gone previously.

I rewatched this today and have changed my opinion.
6.5/10
It's actually decent until the final 20 minutes when it just goes daft with conspiracy theory nonsense and subterranean superhumans who need to be fed to "keep worlds apart".
any reason why ? it seemed to have good reviews, though I never got the over praise for the Martian either

I liked it. I loved the book and I thought the film was a pretty good representation.
Very much looking forward to Artemis being made into a film.

I'm usually (rightly) skeptical of films that are made for buttons but go stratospheric, but this is damn good. For all its familiar witchy origin tropes, it twists and turns enough with violence and humour along a twisted road.
There was a point when I thought "This is basically Wishmaster, Pinhead and Freddy mashed together", but that would be unfair, on those three legends of horror as well as this.
One thing I've noticed in horror (and concept stuff) recently is that Shudder, A24, Blum and Neon are seriously consistent with what they put out. I know there's big hitter ownership for all of them (other than A24), but I hope that idiot execs don't f*ck with their output too much.

I also read the book and that was fantastic! But I felt the movie missed out huge chunks from the book although understandable. It's only because I read the book that I knew what was going on in the movie and that's why I managed to watch an hour of it before throwing in towel.
It's got excellent reviews all over the place though, just wasn't for me.
