What film did you watch last night?

This weekend it's Oklahoma Honey.

That was the name for the film in France. In the US, and maybe UK, it was The Rivals of Amziah King. How films get renamed is beyond me, and a different subject.

Great film though. Matthew McConaughey is truly brilliant, plays the role with such energy and commitment. The film kinda falls into 3 parts. The 1st part sets up a sense of community, it's frantic and funny and warming. McConaughey drives it. Second part is a quest, and I love a good quest movie! The third part is revenge where tbh I found some of the actions questionable so I had to think black comedy caper.

But all in all a superb film, with a cracking soundtrack (unless you hate bluegrass!)

Did you watch it in black and white or colour? I tried colour, which didn't work at all for me.

Yeah, the dialogue/writing is a bit odd, a mash up of 30s cinema with a modern twist that fails a bit at times. I get what they were trying to do, but it didn't quite come off.

B&W of course! I did like the visuals, but it's too similar to the visuals of Sin City, which took away the novelty of this venture.
As you say, overall it didn't quite come off - but still interesting!

I hadn't thought of Sin City, but that's a great shout.
